2025 environmental Activities
In celebration of Earth Day 2025, the City is organizing a number of activities throughout the months of April and May to educate, raise awareness and take eco-friendly action. These free activities are offered to residents by registration only. Space is limited! Book your place online on the event page listed in the Events Calendar.
Saturday, April 12
Earth Day Clothing Swap 1 to 4 p.m. — Victoria Hall Upcycle your wardobe sustainably and for free! Bring up to 10 pre-loved items of clothing and swap with friends and neighbours.

Conference by Earth Day Canada: I’m adopting an eco-friendly lifestyle 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. — Hybrid format (in person at the Westmount Public Library and online) This conference will discuss concrete and affordable solutions to help you reduce your environmental impact on a daily basis.

Educational Game Hosted by Ecogames: 2tonnes Workshop 2 to 4 :45 p.m. — Westmount Public Library Explore the future, gradually build your low-carbon transition scenario up to 2050 and discover what it means to achieve carbon neutrality.

Earth Day Quiz 4 to 5 p.m. — Westmount Public Library How much do you really know about plastic? Children from 7 to 12 years old are invited to participate in this special programme led by local author Megan Durnford.

Tree Tour in Westmount Park 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. — Meet in front of the Conservatory Learn about the fascinating history and unique characteristics of the trees that adorn our stunning Westmount Park during a guided tour with the City’s arborist. Saturday, April 26
Household Hazardous Waste Collection 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. — Westmount Public Library parking lot Take part in the biannual collection for household hazardous waste and electronics. New this year, car and small truck tires are now accepted! No registration necessary.

Conference and workshop by Incita: Mieux gérer ses matières résiduelles et fabriquer ses produits ménagers (in French) 1 to 3 p.m. — Victoria Hall Come and demystify waste materials management at home, at the office or at school through materials sorting and the 4Rs: refuse, reduce, reuse and recycle. This activity is given in French only.
