Ville de Montréal: Closure of the Route 136 from October 18 to 21


The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility informs users that the Ville-Marie Highway (Route 136) will be closed eastbound between the Turcot Interchange and downtown during the weekend of October 18, 2024. This closure is required for the relocation of an important drain and for slab repair work. Congestion is expected.

Traffic Disruptions and management

Route 136 (Ville-Marie Highway) eastbound (towards downtown):

  • Complete closure between the Turcot Interchange and the entrance from Rue de la Cathédrale, from Friday at 11:59 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.
  • Detour: Highway 15 southbound and Highway 10 (Bonaventure) westbound.

Default closures in the Turcot Interchange:

  • Ramp from A-15 (Décarie) SOUTH to R-136 EAST, from Friday at 11:59 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.;
  • Ramp from A-15 NORTH to R-136 EAST, from Friday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.;
  • A-20 EAST / R-136 EAST within the interchange, from Friday at 11:59 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.;
  • Entrance from Boulevard des Tanneries to R-136 EAST, from Friday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.

Please note:

  • The reserved lane on Highway 20 eastbound, from the Saint-Pierre and Montreal-West interchanges, will remain open.
  • Detours will be marked with temporary signage.
  • This closure may be postponed, extended, or canceled due to unfavourable weather conditions or operational constraints.
