Ville de Montréal: Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of Valve Chambers on Rue Sherbrooke and Avenue Wood

The rehabilitation and reconstruction of valve chambers on Rue Sherbrooke and Avenue Wood will begin on February 5 and are expected to last for approximately 13 weeks. Work will take place Monday to Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. These essential works aim to maintain and improve local infrastructure, but they will result in some changes to traffic and parking.

Impact on Traffic and Parking

  • Rue Sherbrooke:
    • Westbound traffic will be diverted to a one-way lane.
    • Eastbound traffic will be maintained with two lanes between Avenues Elm and Atwater.
  • Avenue Wood:
    • The street will be completely closed to northbound traffic between Rue Sherbrooke and Chemin Barat.
  • Street Parking:
    • On-street parking will not be available for the entire duration of the works.

Safety Measures and Traffic Flow

To ensure safety and optimize traffic flow in the area, it is important to follow the temporary signage, including detours and local traffic routes. The cooperation of all users is essential to minimizing disruption during the construction period.

Water Supply Interruption

Temporary interruptions to the potable water supply are excepted. Affected residents and businesses will be notified 48 hours in advance through specific notices.
