Ville de Montréal: Resumption of Work on Rue Saint-Antoine Starting March 24
Reconstruction work on Rue Saint-Antoine will resume on March 24, 2025, and continue through December 2025. The work aims to improve the infrastructure, including the reconstruction of the street, and the replacement of the water, sewer, gas, and electrical networks.
Details of the Work
Area affected: Rue Saint-Antoine, between Avenue Atwater and Rue De Courcelle.
Work to be completed in phases: The work will be carried out from east to west to minimize traffic disruptions.
Parking: Parking is prohibited within the construction zone and on Rue Lacasse to allow for local two-way traffic.
Traffic Impact
Rue Saint-Antoine : New two-way traffic starting on April 1.
Major disruptions:
From March 24 to mid-June: Full closure of Rue Lenoir and Rue Saint-Philippe.
Starting April 1: Partial closure with adjustments to traffic between Rue De Courcelle and Rue Lenoir.
Detours:
Rue Notre-Dame: Detour via Rue Notre-Dame heading west for the entire duration of the project.
Access to the neighborhood: Highway 20 and Boulevard des Tanneries, or Exit 2 on Route 136 and Rue Saint-Antoine up to Rue Saint-Philippe.
Work Schedule
Monday to Friday: From 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Weekend work possible: Saturday and Sunday, from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Replacement of Lead Water Connections
During this time, the City will also be replacing lead water connections along the street. Affected property owners have already been contacted.
